I did a recovery reinstall of windows xp with zone alarm running and now
it won't let me activate over my network. Can I just use the setup disk
to get into recovery mode and delete zone alarm? Would anything else
work besides calling microsoft.

I assume you can run XP just not activate it??
try just right clicking the little ZA Icon..........shut down ZA
then activate
get back if that does not work

I'd be darned if I would shut down the firewall to activate the operating
system. The computer will likely be infected by the time the process has
been completed, especially with a DSL or cable connection.

To the O/P. Before shutting down the firewall, CALL for activation. Don't
turn off or delete the firewall, unless you have turned on the Windows
firewall first.

No, I can't even log into a user, It says I have to activate first
before I can log into a user. I have a weird version I guess, I got it
through ACM at my college.
