Can't activate windows XP

The product key used to activate my Windows XP does not work. I have not
installed this windows on any other computer. It is fresh out of the
packaging. I called and tried to activate windows by phone with the computer
voice, didnt work. I was then sent to a human tech who gave me a new
activation number. Which also didn't work. I don't get it!!!

what did the tech say when you told him it didn't work????

I suspect that when your registration failed to work, and you were then
given quite a lot of numbers and letters to repeat to MS, and then when MS
gave you the activation number, a digit has been mistaken somewhere, which
is VERY easy to do, simply because of the amount
