Two weeks ago, I lost the ability to access secure sites.
I've tried repairing Explorer, etc. Have worked for 45
mins with my ISP tech.

Any ideas?

Funny, but about two weeks ago I also lost ability to
access secured sites. I too have tried everything to
resolve the problem but to no avail, including all the
suggestions I've rec'd from this newsgroup, from AOL and
from Microsoft. I'm baffled! If you find a solution,
please post it. Thanks.

Funny, but I encountered the same exact problem about two
weeks ago. I've tried everything suggested by people in
this group, AOL and Microsoft, but to no avail. I'm really
baffled! If anyone helps you resolve this problem, please
post it so I can try it also. Thanks.

I had the same problem and this is what worked for me.

Register .Dll Files
Re-register the following .dll files:
Softpub.dll
Wintrust.dll
Initpki.dll
Dssenh.dll
Rsaenh.dll
Gpkcsp.dll
Sccbase.dll
Slbcsp.dll
Cryptdlg.dll

To do so:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type cmd , and then click OK.
At the command prompt, type the following lines and press
ENTER after each line:

regsvr32 softpub.dll <----Note The Space between 32
and the next letter that MUST be entered in just as it
reads line for line, one at a time.
Click OK when you receive the message that
DllRegisterServer in FileName succeeded after each line.
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
When Finished: Type exit to quit Command Prompt.

Then you should be able to access secure web sites.

Thanks Tish that worked, thanks had spent ages playing with settings but now I will have to reset them!!!
Happy Christmas.
