Great help from Mike Burgess on this prolbem, but still no
joy. Allwebsites work fine apart from 2.

I have checked the sites I can't reach are up and
running. I have tried 2 different dial up ISP's, and
downloaded and tried Navigator in addition to my IE6 which
I am running from Win 98 2nd edition. Still can't get the
site.

You pointed me to mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm. I've
now deleted my original hosts file completely, and copied
in the Hosts file from winhelp2002. No change.

I've also cleared my TIF files as you directed. No
change. I haven't been able to delete the cache folder
following mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm, because my
computer won't restart in DOS for some reason (I just get
a blank screen - no command prompt). If I restart from
the CD or emergency start floppy, 'deltree' is listed as a
bad command.

Any other ideas?

Try to run the ISPFIX program in case your isp.dll is damaged.
It's a Windosck2 fix: I'm sorry I can't remember the link for it right now,
but I'm sure someone in here does.
