Can't access one site on one user IE only, firefox works

Here is the scenario:

I can't get to http://metalink.oracle.com/ from my laptop logged in as
my domain user using IE 6 running on Windows XP. I installed Firefox
and I can get to it fine. I can get to any other site I try in IE6. I
logged into another account on my laptop (a local account) and it
worked fine there.

Others in my office using the same hardware and software can access the
site without any problem.

The error I get is the generic "page cannot be displayed".

Two things occurred around the time this started happening.

1. Oracle changed their site
2. I started using a different proxy server

But, again, my coworkers used the site on the old proxy server and
switched to the new one just like I did and it works for them.

So, I'm puzzled. What would cause one site to get a page cannot be
displayed error on just IE for just one user on one pc on a network?

Thanks,
Bobby

This is a simplistic approach, but sometimes simple is all you need: Flush
your browser's cache.

Sorry. I've cleared my browser cache and cookies, reinstalled IE6, and
verified that the host name was not in my hosts file.

Meant to include what I've done in the post.
