Can't access ntfs folder after moving hard drive

I recently moved my backup hard drive to another
computer. I have a hard drive with windows 2000 and
applications on it and then the hard drive I moved with
data and used to be shared folders. I cannot access one
of the folders to reshare it. I cannot alter the
permissions, because all I get is access denied. In the
old computer, that folder was only permitted access to
someone on my network who had mapped a drive to it. I try
to access it from his computer and I get access denied.
Can someone help me. This folder has all his important
data. Thanks.

Assuming the data was not EFS encrypted, you should be able to first take
ownership [select subcontainers and objects also] and then add yourself to
the ntfs permissions list with full control. --- Steve
