I used to be able to access my toolbar, taskbar and favorites in IE when in
full-screen mode. Now I am not really sure but I think that I may have had a
version of IE 5 then. Anyway, through updates, etc. I ended up with IE 6.
Not really sure when problem started, but I am using Netscape as my ISP, and
I also have Firefox installed on my system. My OS is XP. I have checked
all the posts and tried everything that I can think of to restore
functionability to these items...all to no avail. Does anyone have an idea
that may help me? I would truly appreciate your help!

Just wondering if when in full-screen mode (F11) in IE, that "auto-hide" has
been set. When in IE's full screen mode, move your cursor to the very top
of the screen and see if the IE toolbar doesn't pop down. If so, then right
click on an empty spot and uncheck "Auto-Hide"

Hi, Jon...Thanks for the reply. Yes, auto-hide was enabled on my toolbar, and I am aware of this feature. But it still won't pop down even when I go to the very top of the screen ( all over the top of the screen). Also, the favorites work the same way, and the auto-hide is also enabled and it, too, won't work. When I open the favorites (with auto-hide on), then click on an empty spot on the page it slides closed like it's supposed to, but it won't reopen when I move the cursor all the way to the left. My taskbar just refuses to come up at all. Don't know if this info was helpful. Let me know if you have any more ideas, OK? Thanks alot!

There are a couple things I can think of - one is that your full-screen
window isn't placed correctly. That is, the window "edges" where your mouse
can activate the auto-hide function are too far off the screen. See this
article on how to edit the registry to reset the window position of IE:

New Internet Explorer Window Opens Partially Off the Screen

Second, is that something is interfering with the auto-hide function. Have
a look at this freeware program than will handle this for you:
http://home.nordnet.fr/~pmdevigne/programmes_e.html#ActiveTache Works with
XP.

Well, my full-screen is OK. I think I figured out where the problem is, but
not what it is. Out of curiousity I tried using all three functions off-line
and, lo and behold, they all worked flawlessly! So this new info leads me to
believe that my ISP, Netscape, must have something to do with this problem.
Perhaps it's the fact that they use an AOL proxy server? Maybe it's the
built-in accelerator? Or perhaps they're just trying to frustrate their
users enough so they will begin to patronize Netscape Navigator? This is why
I couldn't figure out when the problem began. I knew, though, that it was
fairly recent and, guess what, I began using Netscape as my ISP in 2-05. I
will try to contact their tech support to see if they can resolve this
problem.
I really appreciate your efforts to help me and I will try my best to
reciprocate to others in the future. Thank you.
