Hi:

Once I logon to VPN, I try to browse to my user folder at
\\Fileserver\users\%username%; and I get the message, 'Access is denied'.
Does it recognize that I'm on? When I am logged into the domain at the
office, I expect that error message when trying to access other users'
folders, but I should be able to get at the files in my folder.

Thanks,

Do

Windows 2000 do not use the VPN credentials while accessing share folders.
(This feature is supported on XP onwards)
Give your credentials while accesing the shared folder. i.e. net use *
\\fileServer\users /u:<User Name> <Password>

Hi:

Is there a keyboard shortcut to get it to prompt me for the username and
password when I click on the folder?
Also, is there a way to capture that username and password in a logon
script?
I know that in my logon.bat, I use %USERNAME%. Is this the same? What
about password?

Thank You,

Do

Hi:

I'm using the script over VPN. Your suggestion works, but not over VPN.
How do I capture the username and password from the VPN connection in
order to map to a user's home. %username% and %password% seem to error over
VPN.

I am using connection manager and want to map the j:\ to
\\servername\users\%username%

Thanks,

Do
