I have not been able to get onto the internet at all for the past few days.
Previously, it had worked fine. Now, I get 'this page cannot be displayed'
message every time. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Verizon DSL support
and they tried all their tricks to no avail. Said the problem's in my
computer. I can connect to the internet but I just can't go anywhere. The
modem's working fine. Also, I still have AOL active as a dial-up connection.
I can get on their homepage but still not onto the internet from there.
At about the same time this problem started I also began getting a little
box popping up on the desktop that said 'Symantec Email Proxy'. I don't know
what that is or if it has anything to do with my problem.
I am running Windows XP (SP1) on a fairly new machine. I've been using
Norton's Antivirus 2004 and Firewall 2005. I also use spyware programs by
Webroot and Intermute.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
