I have two folders branching off the root directory on a Win XP Pro machine,
and I'd like to arrange for normal users on the machine to not be able to
see the contents of those folders. Last night (while obviously too tired), I
created another folder to experiment on, stuck a couple of expendable files
in it, right clicked the folder, hit properties, went to the security tab,
and promptly locked MYSELF out of the folder, too. I'm the administrator on
this family machine, so I was bit surprised at that result.
The experimental folder's not important, except that now it's useless
clutter in Explorer. I can't delete it, apparently. Anyone know of a
solution for this? And the proper way of achieving my goal? Or, if you're
not in the mood to explain, perhaps you know of a decent online tutorial.
The help XP online help system was apparently written by computers, solely
for the benefit of toasters and hair dryers.
