Hi

Im connected to an exchange server 2003 usnig outlook 2003. My problem is
that i can't "reach" my contacts from the mail from...eg. when i want to
"Check name". Otherwise the contatcs are working fine. I can. eg. see them
from OWA. I have tried to remove the account and install it again. No
effect. The strange thing is. If i use a "fresh" in windows XP it works. So
its SOMEWHERE i have disablet this feautere in outlook....just can't figure
out where.

Thanks in regards
Anders

Right click on your contacts folder, properties, outlook address book. Tick
the box.

If you can't (e.g, it's grayed out) - you need to add the outlook address
book - tools, email accounts, add (under directory), additional address
books, outlook address book.

Its unfortuantly allready done.

It's not grayed and it is ticked. It even shows up in the dropdown menu
where you can pick wich address book you want use to search after names when
eg. pushing To: when typing a mail. Its quite strange since i know the
contacts is showing fine in both the Contacts section of outlook and in OWA
(where it works as supposed). So im sure its a Outlook problem.

Other suggestions?

Ah - so you're saying it isn't looking up to the address book you've
specified? OWA doesn't have anything to do with this (and in fact OWA
doesn't resolve addresses to your personal contacts folders anyway - not
100% sure about E2003 for that, but I know in other versions it does not).

So you're saying that if you have Joe Bloggs in your contacts and it's set
as an address book, and you type "joe" in the to field and press Check
Names, it doesn't find Joe Bloggs and resolve to an e-mail address?

If you go to tools, options, email options, advanced, do you see a tickbox
in "automatic name checking" and also in "suggest names" ?

If you remove the contacts list from the address book properties in tools |
email accounts, and then add it back in, does it work?

I think this is the key to the problem. It is in fact (i guess) not a local
contact folder i have, but an exchange account with an address book. I mean.
My contacts in outlook 2003 is reflected directly to the contract in my
webaccess page

Exactly.

The are both checked.

No result.

The thing is. Under contacts / properties / Outlook address../
I have checked the checkbox and called my addressbook for My Contacts

When im writing an email and click To: I see the folder (My Contacts) but
its EMPTY now. I have tried everything now. Even tried to delete my email
profile.

Hmmmm. This start to get on my nerves....!

If you connect directly to the Exchange server and don't use a PST file, all
your contacts are in your contacts folder in your mailbox. Do you see your
contacts properly in Outlook just by clicking on the contacts folder?

Are you sure it's pointing at the right contacts folder? What services do
you have in tools | email accounts | view/modify?
