I run a stand alone pc and have never done anything to activate a network
or
connect to a server. The only thing I've done is upgrade AOL software. I
uninstalled and reinstalled AOL and Office 2003 to no avail. When I
reinstalled Outlook, there were no options that I had to choose except
complete vs. partial install. I have never run across anything to do with
an
exchange server.

You'll at least need to answer my questions. Outlook didn't just do this
all
by itself. You had to have done it. Do you run against Exchange Server?
If
not, why did you configure your Outlook profile to use Exchange transport
when you use AOL?

I don't know what happened. I've read here that this happens sometimes,
but
the suggested fix isn't working. The error message comes into play when
I
try
to follow the fix. It directs me to change the email account in
Outlook. I
don't have one, so I get an error message that I must be online to
access
the
exchange server.

Nothing happens "suddenly" for no reason. State the changes you made
that
produced the problem. State the error message more clearly. State how
the
transports are configured for your Outlook profile. State how you
configured
the Outlook Address Book in your profile.

2003 Word suddenly lost the ability to pull contact info when
preparing
envelopes. I've already gone to Outlook/Contacts Properties/Outlook
Address
Book and the "show this folder as an email address book" box is
grayed
out. I
keep getting error messages about accessing a ms exchange server,
but I
use
AOL for email.
