Which version of Windows XP does the desktop have?

XP Home Edition doesn't have administrative shares like C$.

To enable administrative shares on XP Professional, disable simple
file sharing.

Is your desktop C$ drive shared?

Right-click "My Computer" -> Manage -> System Tools -> Shared Folders
-> Shares
Verify that "C$" is in the "Shared Folder" column.
Verify that you are trying to connect with an account with
Administrator privilege.
Right-click the "C" drive -> Properties -> Security
and make sure the settings allow access.

Any drive share ending with $ is usually reserved for the
administration of the drive(s) and might require an "administrator"
type account.

Sometimes the command prompt gives better error messages.
From the machine you are trying to connect from, bring up a command
window (Start->Run->Cmd) and enter the command:

net use * \\RAMEEZ\C$ /user:RAMEEZ\administrator

When asked, provide the password for the administrator. If you have a
different logon user that is in the "Administrators" group, use that
name instead of "administrator" in the command line and provide the
appropriate password. See what kind of error you get.
