Wayne B.

I have just installed win2k on a seperate partition (D) on
a HD that already had XP installed (C). When I had tried
to boot back into XP, I got a message that said that I
wasn't able to get into win2k because of a file that was
missing >can't recall what file it had stated< BUT my
confusion is that it was telling me that WHEN I was trying
to get into XP. When I choose 2k, I have no problem.(which
is what I'm on now)
I'm not too familiar with recovery console so I don't
know what needs to be done to repair my connection to XP.
Could anyone out there who reads this give me some
assistance on this. THANX N ADVANCE Wayne B.

Installing Win2K _after_ WinXP replaces WinXP's system files
(BOOT.INI, NTLDR, & NTDETECT.COM) with Win2K's older versions, which
cannot recognize the newer WinXP as a valid OS. Simply replace these
older files with WinXP's files.

Hi Bruce, Question,... What exactly do I have to do to
replace these files? I went to the sight U offered but I
can't figure out what EXACTLY has to be done (concerning
my particular situation) I've tried a couple of commands -
Bootcfg /rebuild; bootcfg /add< but obviously I'm still
not getting it. Could U throw a little more direction my
way, I'm afraid I'm a little slow with catching on to what
I have to do. THANX AGAIN Wayne B.
