cant access 2 user accounts

i have a new laptop and started off with a couple of user accounts and they
were fine but now when i try to access the other account after switching user
it goes to a blue screen and says fatal error. what is happening?

Does it say anything else besides fatal error? You may have some hardware
or software installed that is not compatible with fast user switching. What
have you installed on this new laptop? You may need to check the websites
of the various things you've installed to determine if the software and
hardware is compatible with this feature.

Blue screens are usually associated with a hardware issue. This being a
laptop, if there are no external devices connected to it when this happens,
the next thing to check would be the device manufacturer websites for the
latest XP compatible drivers for your various internal hardware, graphics
card, soundcard, etc.
