Hi, i shared some folder on my lan and set user permissions to keep them
private and secure from outsiders. From my XP machine i can acces the
folders shared on win2k but not the other way around. Ive created 2 user
account with admin rights and set them to have full acces to the folders,
but when i want to acces the folders on XP from the win2k machine there is
no logon-window. It just says Acces denined, u have no permission.

can you ping xp from w2k? if not, make sure no firewall running on the LAN
connection.

Yes i can ping the xp machine, and it works fine if i add the guest account
to the permissions, but then everyone can acces the folders on my xp machine
and that was not my intention.

from w2k, use net use \\xpname\shared /u:administrator command. can you
access the shared folder?
