I have a SIIG AP-40SCSI Pro scsi card which is installed and working
perfectly. I attached my canoscan, set the termination and scsi id,
turned the scanner on and then turned my machine on. The computer now
hangs and the only way I can get it to boot is by switching off the
scanner.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Dell Precision 340
Win XP Pro

Thanks

I don't know your scsi card. But I had a similar problem with mine. In
the bios of the scsi card I reduced the speed for the scanner id
(2MByte is ok).
You can try to switch on the scanner after your system has booted.
O.K. scsi is not plug-and pray, but as an administrator you can
enforce a new hardware scan.
