Hi
I have a new Dell Dimension 8300 that has Windows XP Home Edition with Microsoft Plus and Digital Media Edition and a Soundblaster Audigy2 sound card. The Audigy 2 sound card has IEEE 1394 "capability"
I am thinking of getting a Canopus ADVC-50 or ADVC-100 analog converter for importing my VHS tapes to the computer and then to a DVD. According to Canopus's website, the ADVC converts to a "DV" digital file and sends this file to the computer.
My questions are as follows
1. Can the IEEE 1394 on the Soundblaster Audigy2 sound card be used for the connection from the ADVC to the computer to record both audio and video to the computer
2. Can the Moviemaker2 receive a "DV" file as an input source or does the file type need to be different? If different, what program can convert from a DV file to a file that can be used by Moviemaker2
Thanks for any help
Alan
