Windows XP Pro, Canon i450 was working fine until service
patch 1a was installed. I removed SP1a and after the
required boot XP found the new hardware and printer worked
with no intervention on my part. I removed the printer,
software completely installed the patch again, then
retrieved the latest driver from Canon's website. XP
doesn't recognize the printer (plug and play). Trying to
manually select printer and port (it's locally connected
via USB cable), I'm not even presented with a USB option.
I would just do without the SP1a but Office 2003 requires
SP1a. Any ideas?
Thanks jw
