Canon Skewed Paper

Hello! I've recently run into some printing problems - and I'm not sure if
they're caused by my i850. Has anyone noticed their printing being skewed
(slanted) due to the Canon grabbing the paper slightly crooked? I've been
through three Epsons, and haven't had this problem. I love my Canon, but if
this is the case, it hits the pavement.

I've not seen this noted previously on the newsgroup. Be sure to check the
feed roller mechanism to make sure all rollers are turning freely and that
there isn't a scrap of paper or other obstruction that may be causing the
paper to not be picked up evenly.

If the paper was not alligned during the insertion, the printer would
back it out and realign it. I recall having feed problems where it
would report a jam for me. It turned out to be the drivers.

Download and install the newest drivers if you haven't already.
Also make sure your paper tray slider is adjusted to let the paper
rest relaxed and not forced into the tray and bowed.

Update:
My i850 is being sent away for warranty work. I've got another of the same
model to use while it's away, and this one works fine.

Nobody cares, I'm sure, but I wanted to post some feedback.
I used Epson for 5 years - used three different models. Thought I loved
them.

Having this Canon has been a HUGE stress relief. I am no longer cleaning
heads constantly. I cleaned the heads on this for the first time in 5 months
the other day, and that was due to a screwy refilled cartridge. I've printed
a few thousand sheets on it, and other than the one paper problem, it's been
great. (I'm not sure if the rollers have kicked it due to the extended use,
or if they were like that from day one, and I didn't notice.)

They have a toll free support number here in Canada, and I actually talked
to a real person in less than five minutes. He was an idiot, but I won't
hold that against Canon in general.
