Canon S900 - blocked nozzles or hardware failure?

My Canon S900 worked fine for four months.

Suddenly bands.

Nozzle check shows following pattern:

Deep cleaning and washing of print head does nothing.

Is the regularity of the pattern (on both magentas and the photo cyan)
perhaps more characteristic of a hardware failure on the board of the
printer?

I don't know much about Canon printers, but the pattern shows a hardware
failure. I suppose printhead failure or a problem with printhead's
electrical contacts. Clean the contacts of the printhead, and if needed
replace the printhead.

If it's only four months old, sounds like a warranty issue to me.

I have a Canon 9000, and have had occasional glitches, but never a
regular pattern like that! I agree with Yianni.

Some newsgroup contributors appear to have confused
the meaning of "discussion" with "digression".

Look at my post above about Canon printhead (I950 banding problem.) It's all
under warrantee. It's your contacts or your printhead.

Had the same problem and after several cleanings with no improvement, I went out
and bought a new printer.

BTW, how did you post that jpeg?

I've yet to see how to diagnose these nozzle check problems officially. What's
an x-ray worth if you can't read it?

Thanks. JPEG posted to a home page - nothing to do with the newsgroup.
