In the past I used Windows 98 and my canon s100 digital camera was succesfully connected by USB.
Now I use Windows XP and I don't succeed to connect my canon digital camera threw USB.
Does enyone know how to make the connection in order to download my pictures to my PC?

Have you downloaded the WIA drivers (WIA391.exe) for the camera from Canon
and installed them?

This sounds almost identical to my 7/02 questions about XP and the Powershot S100
Sure would love to be ably to fix this.

I finally found the reason!
With XP you have to open the camera first so you are able to take pictures. Then you have to connect the camera to the USB and only then move the camera button to the left(blew arrow).
Now you are able to unload te pictures to your PC!!!
Good luck.

Glad you got it to work for you but the process you describe is somewhat
more complicated than required. Plug the camera into the computer with the
USB cable and switch in on with the mode switch in the blue position. WinXP
should recognize the device and open the appropriate Wizard.
