Canon S10 as web cam

How do I connect camera to computer. Tried to connect via
supplied USB that I use to download pictures but get
nothing in Messenger window. Do I need to come from
video out on camera with USB on other end to connect to
computer?
 
Is this a still camera or DV? If it is DV use a firewire
connection! XP will take care of the rest.

If its a still camera, forget it.
