Cannot get digital camera to be recognized by XP on an R31 laptop. USB
message says does not have has speed driver. Need access to that too.

You may try looking for a speed driver at www.indy500.com. The problem is
that once you find a decent speed driver, other issues will arise such as
conflicts with the pit crew utilities or the speed driver trying to take
control of other processes and creating conflicts with driver manager. This
can sometimes even cause the owner of the entire process to fail, which
orphans everything else including the speed driver.

Hi folks
I'm having similar problems getting the Canon A610 to be recognised by the
computer. Having followed the instructions to the letter, every time I
install I get an unusual 3-tone USB connection and the camera is shown in
Device Manager as "Digital Still Camera" with a yellow conflict circle.
Properties gives me Error Code 38 and tells me there's a previous driver
version causing problems. So far, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the
software, although I understand the drivers are Microsoft's (running XP Home,
sorry) and I've done all I can short of entering the Registry. I don't want
to do that without asking someone first. I've tried all short of updating
motherboard BIOS and installing on someone else's machine. Canon are not
being much help. Does anyone else have this problem? Many thanks for help in
advance.
