Canon MPC 400 HELP!

Can anyone help please?

Canon MPC400 Multifunction printer / scanner installed on Windows XP Home.

Was working fine, but then suddenly scanner stopped working - printer still
works OK.

It works fine from my laptop, so software prob is indicated - no worries I
hear you say - reinstall it!

Great - but it will NOT let me. I've tried everything.

Going to add/remove programs I get a box that says "The specified file
cannot be found" and it refuses to uninstall.

I even tried deleting all the folders "Canon" from the programs folders, and
of course I have tried removing the device from the hardware manager and the
printers folder.

Even after all that if I try to reinstall, the system says the device can
not be found! Arrrrrrrrgh!

I have to keep doing system restores just to keep the printer working.

Any advice greatly appreciated thanks.

Follow Bruce Sanderson's instructions to completely clean up the printer
drivers.
