Canon MP630 scan to pdf query

Hello

I have 2 queries re MP630 Canon printer.

1 I always want my scans to be in pdf format. Scans on MP630 Canon
default to .tif. Is there any way I can change this so it automatically
saves as a .pdf?

2 I often scan music scores which are 6/7 pages. How do I get scan to put
that into one pdf file automatically? Is there any way? Without my having to
save each page as a pdf and then "insert pages".

If the Canon driver doesn't offer it, you will need to get another
program that switches .tif to .PDF. There are a number of products
which do offer this now, as Adobe still considers it there propriety
product, they have opened and sold licenses to numerous other companies,
but not all products have this ability.

If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, you simply open Acrobat, and
select File, Creat PDF, from Scanner... and it will do exactly what you
want. Unfortunately the retail version of Acrobat is expensive (like all
Adobe products).... if you can find an earlier version of Acrobat on eBay or
similar, the Upgrade version of the current product is much cheaper.

Are you using Canon software? Have you checked for an upgrade? In my
experience Canon software has reasonable functionality: no problem doing
this on my LIDE
 
As Cari stated, Adobe offers a pdf converter in Acrobat, at quite a
cost, but there are now many 3rd party products, some specifically just
as converters, and some which include a pdf save which are either word
processors, or image programs.

I just plugged the following into Google and there are many results fro
both products. Some claim to be "free" but I didn't read up on the
possible "catches":

programs which convert images to .pdf format

PDF formatting is much more accessible than it used to be as Adobe has
attempted to universalize it as the internet and publishing file format.
Before spending a lot of money, check out other options via a search
engine.
