How the dickens would duplex SCANNING work?

Answer is probably no cause 530 is not very expensive.

Lou
I eat my peas with honey.
I've done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste funny.
But it keeps them on my knife.

thanks for the reply old chap.

have a look at the following:

http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Pro...x.asp?ComponentID=345089&SourcePageID=26562#1

it says the 830 does duplex scanning.

how it does it?
dont ask me. it just does.

for the 530: it doesn't say either way.
it does have duplex printing.

thanks all the same.

Well I learned something, thank you.
Looking at the pictures the 830 appears taller which makes me think
duplex scanning is probably done via paper handling - sending the
original back thru.
Lack of mention makes me think 530 can not do it, but you might want to
buy one at a place where you can return it without a penalty and the
read the manual (probably on CD).
FWIW local Staples seems to have both (even if not on display - ask).

You get a machine with a sheet feeder, so it produces an output scan
that is a multi-page PDF.

not being an expert or anything... i don't think you're rigth about
that.
you can have a sheet feeder but not have duplex scanning.
a lot of printers have automatic document feeders.
i've only seen the mp830 state that it has duplex scanning.

otherwise... if you want duplex scanning...
you have to go for a professional document scanner.
