Canon MP500 default settings

Hi to you all! Can the default settings be changed on the Canon MP500
printer. The current default settings are not convenient. I want the
print to be ready to print/scan to A4 sheets on plain paper, and
standard quality rather than the photo settings it came with.

The manual says very little in this regard, plenty of info about
settings but most especially the scanner options revert to the default
next power up, hence my query here.

However some features possible with devices are not always listed in
manuals, are difficult to interpret or listed in terminology to which
the reader may be unfamiliar. Hence the need for News Groups even if
their use (fortunately only) occasionally results in sarcastic
replies.

Sorry we are not all as technically capable as you, your reply once
again indicates that as is very often the case, sarcastic types are
usually particularly unhelpful.
