I am running into a new issue with trying to set up a
Canon IR2200 on a WIN2K print server. I already have
several installed on the print server that seem to be
working correctly. When I try to set this one up, I get
the following error from the Add Printer Wizard
program; 'Unable to install printer. Operation could not
be completed.'
I also see this error in the event log:
The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source (
CanonPrinterDriver3 ) cannot be found. The local computer
may not have the necessary registry information or
message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to
retrieve this description; see Help and Support for
details. The following information is part of the event:
DrvPrinterEvent, 086C0000, 77FCCDEE, ACCESS_VIOLATION.
I tried re-installing the printer with new downloaded
drivers fron Canon's web site, I tried using a different
version of the drivers,(PCL6 instead of PCL5e), I deleted
and re-created the printer and port, all to no avail.
Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem is, and
how I can fix it? I also had no luck spelunking through
Canon's web site for assistance either...
