Is the speed the only difference?

The ip4200 and mp500 take the QY6-0059-000 where the ip5200 I "think"
takes the QY6-061-000.. .and the 5200 head has more nozzles.

ON THE CANON WEBSITE YOU CAN CHECK COMPARISON BOXES AND DO A SIDE BY
SIDE COMPARISON BETWEEN THE PRINTERS. SINCE THESE PRINTERS ARE NEW
THERE ARE NOT TOO MANY REVIEWS OUT THERE BUT PCMAG DID A RATHER
EXTENSIVE REVIEW ON THE IP4200. WWW.PCMAG.COM

Okay, it looks to me that 5200 has finer control of where the ink drop
be - make sense due to having more nozzles.

THAT IS TOO BAD. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE LESS EXPENSIVE BRANDED PREFILLED
CARTS SOLD ALL OVER WHERE PEOPLE WOULD KNOWWHAT THEY ARE GETTING AND
SOLD BY PROFESSIONAL OUTFITS THAT FULLY DISCLOSE THINGS.

WHILE I HAVE NOT READ ANY TEST REPORTS I THINK THAT IS MAY OFF A
SLIGHTLY BETTER RESULT ON PHOTOS AND SOMEWHAT BETTER ON BUSINESS
DOCUMENTS AND IS FASTER. IT IS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE IP4000 (BASED ON
SPEED AND PRICE POINT). THE IP4200 IS A REPLACEMENT AND UPGRADE FOR
THE IP3000 BASED ON PRICE POINT.

So would I! I once bought a batch which proved to be as good as their
price. They were so badly done they were basically empty on arrival.

More nozzles at the same resolution means more area printed per stroke.
It means less chance of jitter, more area printed per stroke. less
nozzle use per page.

Imagine trying to paint the house with 4 inch roller vs a 8 inch
roller. You can do a house on a 4 inch roller just fine, but your arm
will be more tired.
