Hi
What's the best priced Canon ip4200 carts in the UK?
I don't want to void the warranty just yet with refilling

Hi Martin
That really is a top price for a set, I may bring mine out of the loft.
Go for it!

I've just ordered an IP4200 too. I am *hoping* the cartridges can be
refilled with the same generic refill ink I was using for my Canon
i560. Does that sound likely?

Please differentiate between "generic" ink that is advertised as useable in
all inkjet printers and aftermarket bulk ink that is formulated for specific
manufacturers' printers. Our resident troll will say that they are all
generic but that is not true. Be sure you are using ink formulated for the
specific brand and model of printer.

My supplier sells three kinds of bottled ink: (1) "Universal ink", (2)
"Canon-compatible ink" and (3) "HP-compatible ink" I have used all of
them in my Canon i560 with no problems! But I'd like to get some idea
of whether the ip4200 is as indifferent, regarding ink formulation.

If you expect long term decent results, don't use your universal ink. You
need to find a supplier that sells numerous unique formulations of ink,
each for different printing technologies.

You need to get ink compatible with Chromalife inks, which are used in the
CLI and PGI series cartridges.

No all you need to find is the cheapest place to buy OEM ink since the
OEM ink that is sold by everybody is the same OEM ink so you can shop on
price.

= Manx printcare - they are reliable and sell cartridge specifics inks - which
is what is needed - they also sell full carts with two levels of quality/price,
as well as OEM's. They answer their phone!

Same thing, practically.

Which OEM is one. There are numerous aftermerket sellers of bulk
compatible ink.
