canon ip4200 cd printing noise

I bought the above no more than nine months ago and have been very
pleased with it after my nightmare with the epson r200. However I have
noticed recently that when CDs are printed it makes a heavy punching
sound which it didn't do before. The quality of the CD printing
remains fine but I am concerned that this going to develop into
something serious......

I wonder if something is hitting the hub in the center of the tray?
 
Sounds like a problem with the CD tray. Inspect the disc carefully after,
for any damage to the underside.
