My three years old printer (iP2000) got a problem. It simply denies to
cooperate and tells me that there is "a service error 5100". Is there
anything I could do exept to buy a new one or to send it to a Canon Service?
Grateful for your tips.

Is the print head stuck or is it moving ?
"Print the nozzle check pattern to determine whether the ink ejects properly
from the Print Head Nozzles. Use this function when printed results are
blurred or the color is incorrect.
(1) Ensure that the printer is turned on, and then load a sheet of Letter paper.
(2) Hold down the RESUME/CANCEL button until the POWER lamp flashes
twice, and then release it immediately."
Try the nozzle test, and see if the print head can move. Maybe
it is stuck in place, or a motor has failed or something.
This guess is based on finding the service error 5100 documented for
another Canon printer. I cannot find error 5100 associated with iP2000,
so this is just a guess on my part. It could be a "stuck print head",
but it could also be something entirely different.
