Hello,

I'm hoping you can help me. Something very strange has happened. I have owned
this printer for about 4 months and have been quite pleased with the results.
Up until yesterday I have been printing photos with beautiful results, then
just now I went to print and the colors look awful. They have these reddish
casts on them, some look way too bright. I havent touched the settings so I
dont know why this is doing this all of a sudden. How should I change the
settings for the most true to life coloring? Should I put the vivid photo
option on? How about the noise reduction? Any help would be greatly
appreciated!

I've started noticing the same problem. If I print from Photoshop CS or
Elements on Red River Paper, I get a noticeable red cast too. My inks are
all genuine Canon.

If I use MS Picture it and HP paper, the colors are much truer. I have used
Adobe Gamma monitor correction and I think that the settings are correct.

I would be interested to see what the consensus is.

Assuming that the printhead is still functional:

Re-run your printhead alignment utility, first.
We find that we get sudden color shifts when
the printhead becomes misaligned due to
sudden temeprature changes.

If you have recently changed cartridges, double
check that you have all the colors installed correctly.

If you have changed paper brands recently check
that the paper is not source.

If none of these are fix the problem, try using the printhead
in another printer (if you have one available) with the same cartridges
and paper, to test that the problem is associated with the printhead only
and not the printer.

DonnaAll cartridges full of ink. Have you implemented the Head Cleaning routine?

I was getting a reddish cast using Epson paper on my i960. I had been
using the "Glossy Photo Paper " selection for printer setup. I
switched to the "Photo Paper Pro" selection and the red cast
disappeared.

Thank you! After trying everything, this appears to have been my problem as
well. Thanks again!
