Hello,
I have a limited vertical clearance area that now
holds an older HP..
Can you advise as to the "vertical" size of the i860 WITH
the standard Paper feed (not the little center one) extended..?

And can you comment on HOW MUCH further the actual PAPER extends?

Thanks very much. Need to know before I buy or it may not fit.

Height 12.25". Paper is level w/Paper Rest. There is an additional
unit called the "Photo Paper Tray" for 4x6 photo paper, which fits over
the letter paper feed. However, it can easily be removed for paper
loading. HP is still best for confined places.

With the money you will save on ink and the better quality prints. Why don't
you splurge and get a $19.00 TV cart.

It's worth going for the Canon i860 whatever size as it will not cost as
much to run as the HP! all I ever got with my HP was out of ink message..
HP even have a sell by date on the carts so I have been told and they don't
work after that date, if true then what a load of rubbish...

Thanks Bob, Geo, ... Michael, TV cart? I have
a smallish room with a large desk running 1/2 around
on the walls. No space for a TV Cart...

BUT I understand (anyone???) that this i860 has a OPTIONAL
paper tray that GOES beneath the PRINTER and holds 400 sheets?
ANYONE know about this?

I'll check the website as well. Thanks again.

....it HOLDS only 250 sheets but does fit BENEATH the printer,
and will work with the duplexing unit... maybe this two to three
inch device can be used in place of the top feeding paper tray.
That would solve my problem of space... anyone try this/that?
Thanks.

From Canon...
The "paper tray cassette" can be used in setup as the default paper
feed. It adds about 2.5 inches to the overall heigth of the printer, but
that is still less than the extended top paper feed. In addition, I was
told that the duplexing unit will also add a bit of heigth. Waiting to
hear the exact dimensions from Canon... thanks.
