Canon I860 Question

William

I have been having this problem with my printer and was wondering if anyone
can help me with it.

Whenever I print anything color, it always starts printing without the
magenta color and
as it continues to print the magenta ink slowly starts creeping its way back
into the
print process and after a while, everything prints normal. This is the only
color that
seems to be having a problem. I have tried the standard troubleshooting
techniques but
it has been difficult to pinpoint the problem as it only seems to happen
with the start
of the print jobs (seems like it needs to warm up or something).

Anyone else ever have this problem? Should I just take it to back and get
it swapped for
another? any info is appreciated. TIA

William,

I just recently acquired an i860 myself, and have not experienced the problem
you're describing. If you can't fix it with one or two nozzle cleaning cycles,
I would take the printer back.

My i860 has printed 15 or so 8x10's and a dozen or so 4x6's so far with
absolutely flawless performance. I'd say you may have a bad one.

If Canon hadn't taken out the roll/banner feed option in the latest drivers, I'd
say this is the perfect all-around printer. (I like to print panoramas, but hate
to have to paste sheets together.) As it is, I'm learning to live with it for
now, because everything else about the printer is fantastic.
