A friend has had an i550 for about a month. Printer was new out of the box.

He prints a few pages a week for school, but within the last week, has to
run a quick cleaning cycle on it, or all the nozzles do not work.

After the cleaning, the printer runs beautifully for that session. Next
day, same thing.

Thanks in advance for any insight into this,

Dan

I've never expereinced this with my i550.

Is your friend perhaps turning off the AC power before the printer properly
parks the print head? Doing so will cause drying and clogging of the print
head.

Are the ink cartridges installed properly?

Go to http://www.usa.canon.com/html/conCprTSIndex.jsp and explore tech
support for the i550.

Would he happen to use generic ink?
