Since this was discontinued a while back, looking here is possibly my best
bet. I'm certainly not going to get any help from Canon...
short version: should there be anything in the IC5 slot on the BJC-80's
circuit board?
long version: it stopped working. I enjoy looking inside (broken) things, so
I did. before I did, I took it to the service agent, but although he had it
for a few days he didn't actually fix it. when I was looking inside I
noticed that there was nothing where the IC5 should be (near the internal
battery, which I have replaced in case).it seems a waste to have an empty
holder, which to me says:
1. the repairman took it out and never replaced it.
2. the same circuit board was used for two models and the other one had
something there
3. that isn't causing my problem anyway.
I hope it's no. 1, as then I stand a chance of getting it fixed. if anyone
does know (it's not hard to open them up, I had to remove only two screws
and two springs (springs were on the paper tray and not really necessary) to
open mine), please tell me.
