O
Orin Hargraves
Here's what I just tried with great success, after every attempt had
failed to unclog a black ink printhead on my Canon BJC-3000.
(1) Remove the printhead and remove all ink cartridges
(2) Soak the entire printhead in 1/2 inch rubbing alcohol for a couple
of hours
(3) Remove the printhead from the alcohol and shake it out good.
(4) Replace cartridges and replace printhead in machine
(5) Perform "nozzle clean" and then "deep nozzle clean" from the
printer's maintenance menu.
And voila! The printer is printing again like new.
For the record, I have NEVER bought Canon replacement cartridges, just
the cheap substitutes. The clogging problem never occured until I
actually used a Canon black ink cartridge!
