Do you have the CD and manual that came with the printer? If so, read the
manual and it will tell you how to install the device.

Installation instructions can be found in a PDF file here. You need Adobe
Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to see the file.

Download the latest drivers from Canon.

Cut and paste the link if the word wrap screws up Explorer. I think this is
a USB/Parallel printer. If you want to connect the printer to the USB you
need the USB port on the computer to work (USB 1.1 is fine)

As per the instructions, install the driver first before plugging in the
printer. I recommend the USB and not the Parallel port. Windows will find
and install the printer without any problem.
