I have received a print from Canon of an image i uploaded to them to test
the quality of their i865. Both black & shadow areas have a very poor colour
cast, in fact it looks more purple that black! Has anyone else experience
with the colour cast problem? and dies the i965 possibly suffer the same?
Any help would be appreciated before i spend my cash.
This was from a customer a few days ago. As I found when testing the S-820
some time ago the Canon's all seem to have this distinct blue cast. B/W
prints were at that time unusable, either with Canon inks or our JetTec.
Thanks for the prompt despatch of my order for refills. I really appreciated
the part used cartidge you included - I now have a full set of Jettec for
refill.
It may help you to know that the Jettec cartridges do not colour match the
OEM ones on my Canon S9000, They give a strong cyan cast, which I was unable
to shift with the Canon software. I have overcome the problem by using
Levels and altering the Red channel to gamma 1.2. This gives a near perfect
match to my monitor (pastel and saturated colours) Greys are neutral. It is
easy to set up as an Action in Photoshop, so that it can be called up with a
single click, just before printing. The altered photo file should not be
saved if further editing may be needed!
I hope this may be useful if you get customer queries.
