All my scans seem overexposed (very dark); I don't seem to be able to
make any adjustments before/ after preview to adjust this - can only
make adjustments post-scan (brightness +60 - ruins contrast)?

Using Advanced mode/ calibrate each scan/ auto tone off

Help appreciated - Stewart

You don't need to calibrate each scan. (It takes more time and is not
necessary).

Try Auto Tone ON. This gives you a good starting point. You can make
adjustments to the scan even with Auto Tone On.

Do the preview, you make the adjustments to the preview scan. Any adjustment
is seen in the preview window.

The adjustments for brightness, contrast, red, green and blue tone curves.
are in the five buttons at the bottom of the Advanced mode screen (just
above the Reset button).

Hover your mouse cursor on each button to read the tool tip.
The best tool is the histogram (third button from left), you can adjust the
Black point, Mid tone, and White point.
