Hi I vaped my system about a month ago and then re-loaded eveything on.
(Running XP Pro)

Ever since then I have been having problems.

First it started with the insufficient memory problem.

I downloaded the lastest drivers and scan toolbox from Canon.

Seemed to go okay until I rebooted and then it would not recognise that the
scanner was attached. I would then re-load the drivers and the scan toolbox
only to find it had dissappeared next time I started the system.

Now when I start the system and try and scan something the toolbox fires up
okay and it lets me change settings but as soon as you click on scan it does
nothing. Go into the task manager and find it with a no response message.

I know the scanner is okay because it works without fault on my win 98
machine.

I am about at wits end and have started to enquire about other branded
cameras.

Any assistance/suggestions would be appreciated.

After reloading Windows XP Pro, did you go to Microsoft Update and update to
SP2?

SP2 fixes many USB problems which effect scanners.
And other upgrades.
