Hi,
I think I have a permissions type problem.
1) Had Symantec SystemWorks Pro 2003 loaded
2) Wanted to upgrade to 2004 version
3) Tried to load new version but was prevented because
removal of the old version was required first.
4) Did uninstall of 2003
5) Still could not load because install program said that
2003 was still loaded.
6) Repeated the sequence above a few times but still no
luck
7) Edited the registry to remove all keys that contained
the string "SystemWorks"
8) Was then allowed to start the install
9) Install stopped again because of many messages similar
to the following:
"Could not write value DLL path to
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYMANTEC\SHAREDTECHNOLOGY\CONFIG
WIZ\{big-hex-number}. Verify that you have sufficient
access to that key, or contact your support personel."
I was logged in as administrator. With the help of
Symantec support, checked all the registry key permissions
that seemed relevent. All were set as "full control."
Other than this loading problem, all other programs appear
to work fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Don
