Cannot work offline

I have created a PST to work on an Exchange Server in
Offline mode. When I try to open it offline, I get the
error "Cannot open information store". If I change the
settings to work only online, I have no problems
(assuming I am online).

I have set up many other offline folders in the past, but
cannot do this now. Any ideas on a solution?

Sam,

Have you set up a Offline file folder yet as well (.OST)? I believe it is
located under Tools-->Send/Receive Settings-->Define Send/Receive Groups.
There you can select which folders you want to have access offline. I am
assuming that you are authenticating to Exchange?

There are two basic ways to do offline folders. You can
use an ost file (set up in Advanced properties of the
Exchange Server, maybe under offline folder settings,
can't remember off-hand) or pst file. Once you set up
your pst file, you have to go into E-Mail Accounts
settings and change the default delivery location to the
pst file, then make sure that inbox is selected in your
folder view.
Thankfully, this mess will be fixed in Outlook 2003...
