Cannot view some photos on the web

I have been having a problem with viewing photos that are parts of web sites. They are digitalized.
Do I need some special software to make them viewable. The worst site is Webshots. I do not even try to download anymore sine I can not even view the picture anymore.

Empty your cache, in IE, tools, Internet Options, delete files.
