A very odd thing has happened. For years I have been able to save pictures
that are emailed to me in jpeg format as jpeg files. Recently I discovered
that when I save an attachment it is automatically saving it in "All files"
format so I cannot view it later. when I did some checking I discovered
that in the save as dialogue box, I no longer have the Save as a jpeg"
option in the drop down menu. How could this have suddenly disappeared?

thanks in advance for your help on this.

Not sure, but try deleting your Internet Temporary file and see if the jpeg
option comes back.
In IE6, click on Tools and Internet options. A window will open, click on
the delete button in the middle of this window. Then, e-mail a jpeg to
yourself and see if you can save it as jpeg.

Thanks for answering. I was not sure if this would solve your problem or not
because the same fix did not work for somebody else. Maybe they were not
using XP or Outlook.
If you want to avoid this problem, you can automate this deletion of
Internet Temporary files.
In IE 6, click on Tools, Internet options. Click on the Advanced tab on the
opening window. Scroll down to Security and check the box "Empty....when
closing browser".
The same kind of problem happens when you try to save a jpeg from the
Internet. You may not get the jpeg saving option. The solution is the same.
You simply do not have enough allocated space for the work to be done in
saving the file and so the solution is to delete the temporary files in that
space to regain working space.
