go to folder options in control panel but I am not sure what to do next.
Plwase help so I can enjoy the power point presentations that are sent to me.

1. Buy PowerPoint at the store. If you don't think you will ever create
PowerPoint presentations and/or don't want to spend the money;

2. Install:

a. Free PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft
b. OpenOffice free office suite which includes OO Impress, which can
read most PowerPoint presentations.

Neither Windows XP, nor any other version of Windows, has ever included
Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, or any other significant application
software. Such programs have to be bought, either by themselves or as part
of Microsoft Office.

If your previous computer, running an older version of Windows, came with
one or more of these, it was because the vendor who sold it bundled it as
part of the package he sold you, not because that version of Windows came
with it. Some, but not all, vendors do the same with Windows XP.

PowerPoint is available for sale at your local software store and on many
web sites. It can be bought either by itself, or as part of Microsoft
Office.

Alternatively, if you just want to view PowerPoint files, but not create
them yourself, you can download a
free PowerPoint viewer from

Do you have PowerPoint, or a PowerPoint viewer, installed? You'll not
be able to view PowerPoint files without one or the other.

Or WordPerfect Presentations. Or StarOffice (I assume), and there may be
other compatible programs available.

The essential point is that you can't view PowerPresentation programs
without a program that knows what to do with that type of file, and no
version of Windows comes with such a program
