Re: Internet Explorer 6.0.2900 XP SP2

I de-installed an application a few weeks ago and received an error message
from IE.
Every once in a while IE crashes and sends an error report.
Whenever I try to view Objects in Tools, Internet Options, General, View
Objects, I can't... that button does not work (anymore). For that reason,
I suspect something in IE is corrupted. I tried to re-install IE, but it
will not proceed because IE is already installed. This is frustrating!

My options seem to be debug -or- re-install IE.
SFC /SCANNOW does not do anything. The OS was pre-istalled (IBM Thinkpad), I
don't have a CD.

Can someone help? Thanks!

In Lou Martin had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

Actually when you removed the application did it leave a BHO (browser helper
object) behind that's now still trying to work?

Yes it will say that it's not being worked on right now - yes that's okay -
yes it's done. <g> Really, there isn't a lot more that the author really can
(and has time) to add to it.

Thanks Galen for your help. I ran BHODEMON2 and there is nothing special. I
will monitor what happens in the next weeks and if there is still a problem,
I will figure out how to fool Microsoft to re-install IE.
