Cannot view Inbox

When I open Windows Mail, it shows that it is downloading incoming emails
into the inbox. However, it will show that I have some any new messages but I
am unable to view them. I cannot even see old emails that I have already
read. The inbox tab show that there are 130 messages, the right hand corner
show how many new messages were recieve but the bottom left hand corner shows
0/0. I can see all the messages in the sent and deleted box. I am able to
send messages, I just cannot see any messages in the inbox. Any ideas or
suggestions on how to fix this problem.

On the view menu>current view>select top and bottom options only.

You need to be viewing the Inbox at the time that you go to the view
menu>current view>select top and bottom options only.

You say " but the bottom left hand corner shows 0/0"

Does it also say "view applied"?
 
I am having a similar problem but with downloaded newsgoup images not able to
be seen. At the bottom it does say a view is applied. How do I remedy?

Select a newsgroup then On the view menu>current view>select top and bottom
options only.
